About the Nia Technique

Dance for Wellness, Dance for Joy!
WHAT IS THE NIA TECHNIQUE? 
Based on body-friendly movements, Nia is designed to improve your flexibility, agility, mobility, and strength. It is kind to your joints, endlessly adaptable to individual needs, and a powerful "stress buster" at all levels of fitness.
Similar to Zumba, it delivers a full-body, joyful aerobic workout that emphasizes fun, freedom and community. The music is beautiful and varied, inspiring both fast-paced movement and mindfulness. 

Nia is: 
  • a cardio-dance workout that combines simple moves designed to get you fit in 60 minutes 
  • a mindful movement experience that will leave you energized, mentally clear,  and  balanced 
  • based on the way your body is designed to move and practiced barefoot
  • a non-impact,  flexible practice that incorporates tremendous variety and adapts to individual needs and abilities​ hugely minimizing your risk of injury and
  • taught by licensed Nia Technique teachers committed to creating a  joyful and non-judgmental experience for everyBody
